Thomas THORN was the only documented child of Joseph THORN of Scotland.  Thomas was born 25 October 1688 in Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland; d. 31 October 1717 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond, Virginia; m. 1711 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond, Virginia to Mary Jane MERRYMAN, b. 1695 in Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland; d. 1770 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond, Virginia.  Thomas and Mary Jane had 3 children.

GENERATION 2

Joseph Merryman THORN was the 3^rd child and 2^nd son of Thomas and Mary Jane (MERRYMAN) THORN.  Joseph was born 1715 in Richmond Co., Virginia; d. 10 December 1785 in Granville, North Carolina; m. 1739 in Richmond Co., Virginia to Katherine HIGHTOWER, b. 5 October 1723 in Richmond Co., Virginia; d. July 1782 in Bute, Warren, North Carolina.  Joseph and Katherine had 12 children.

GENERATION 3

Presley THORN, Sr. was the 8^th child and 3^rd son of Joseph Merryman and Katherine (HIGHTOWER) THORN.  Presley was born 24 March 1758 in North Carolina; d. 1834 in Franklin Co., Alabama; m. 17 December 1783 in Warren Co., North Carolina to Anne WILLIAMS, b. 1763 in Granville Co., North Carolina; d. after 1840 in Franklin Co., Alabama.  Presley and Anne had 9 children.

GENERATION 4

Charnell Hightower THORN was the 8^th child and 5^th son of Presley and Anne (WILLIAMS) THORN.  Charnell was born 1800 in Kershwin District, South Carolina; d. 1860 in Morgan, Franklin, Alabama; m. 1857 in Franklin Co., Alabama to Judith “Judy” BRAZIL, b. 1800 in Georgia; d. 1860 in “Old Burleson”, Franklin, Alabama.  Charnell and Judy had one child.

GENERATION 5

Thomas Charnel (Hightower) THORN was the only child of Charnell Hightower and Judith (BRAZIL) THORN.  Thomas Charnel was born 10 May 1858 in Franklin Co., Alabama; d. 19 June 1951 in Putnam, Callahan, Texas; m. 21 September 1883 in Booneville, Prentiss, Mississippi to Willie Elizabeth HESTER, b. 6 February 1861 in Tishomingo, Prentiss, Tennessee; d. 4 October 1941 in Paint Rock, Concho, Texas.  T.C. and Willie had 10 children.

GENERATION 6

Alice Anmesure THORN was the 3^rd child of Thomas Charnel and Willie Elizabeth (HESTER) THORN.  Alice was born 21 February 1887 in Waco, McLennan, Texas; d. 21 August 1978 in Haskell, Haskell, Texas; m. 5 January 1908 in Baird, Callahan, Texas to Charlie Augusta MAYES, b. 6 May 1887; d. 16 May 1960 in Haskell, Haskell, Texas.  Alice and Charlie had 2 children.

GENERATION 7

Willie Augusta MAYES was the 2^nd child of Charlie Augusta and Alice Anmesure (THORN) MAYES.  Willie was born 3 October 1918 in Odell, Wilbarger, Texas; d. 25 May 2004 in Dallas, Dallas, Texas; m. 9 December 1939 in Rising Star, Eastland, Texas to Clyde Finley BISHOP, b. 29 October 1915 in Golden, Wood, Texas; d. 24 November 1999 in Brownwood, Brown, Texas.  Willie and Clyde had 4 children.
